SOUTH FLORIDA JAZZ 2010-11 CONCERT SERIES South Florida JAZZ celebrates its 19th anniversary on November 20th with “An Evening with Chick Corea – A Solo Piano Concert.” The subsequent six concerts, which are held on the second Saturday of January through June 2011, feature premier local, national, and international performers including Christian McBride, Kurt Elling, Mulgrew Miller, Jimmy Cobb, Amina Figarova, and others. LET THE MUSIC EMBRACE YOUR SOUL! – This year’s jazz series includes seven jazz concerts featuring international jazz stars as well as outstanding local jazz talent. Concerts occur at the intimate Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, which is located at 201 SW 5th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. All concerts begin at 7:45 pm. Prior to each jazz show, Stu Grant, host of WXEL FM’s “Jazz Impressions,” will present a lively pre-show jazz talk prior beginning at 7:00 pm.
