On April 1st, the bands SunGhosts and Miller Road will perform at the last Giralda Under the Stars of the 2015-2016 season. For info, read on for an edited press release.
The presenting sponsor Zacapa Rum, once again, invites patrons to experience the award-winning blend of their ultra-premium rums and witness its international reputation for taste and quality. To complement the dining al fresco experience, the final event of the 2015-2016 Giralda Under the Stars series on April 1st will showcase the future of Giralda Avenue. The Downtown Coral Gables Streetscape project will go underway in June to enhance the economic vitality of the downtown district by transforming one of the City’s main streets, Giralda Avenue. It will provide a cohesive pedestrian-friendly experience with garden areas, outdoor dining, improved lighting, way finding, public art and more. The last event on April 1st will excite guests to look forward to the 2016-2017 Giralda Under the Stars series with a new and improved public promenade, Giralda Plaza.
Expect a huge celebration to include performances by the bands SunGhosts and Miller Road. There will also be a sneak peak of the future Giralda Plaza with a live photography installation debuting the plans for the street. The Local will celebrate their 5-year anniversary the same night incorporating a vibrant atmosphere with a tent at the end of the street featuring robata-style cooking. Coral Gables’ favorite, The Bar, also has something to celebrate: a new menu created by consulting Chef Josh Marcus of Josh’s Deli. Being the oldest bar in Coral Gables opening in 1946, The Bar’s menu still has traditional favorites, while adding new items to keep up with the times and to provide something everyone can enjoy. Giralda Avenue and The Bar have quite a history in the Gables, and it seems they are both updating simultaneously. Guests can also expect a Cool Kids Corner to host fun, kid-friendly activities and entertainment until 9 p.m.
“Giralda Under the Stars allows Restaurant Row to shine, coming together to offer a wide array of food from all over the world with choices to satisfy any and all palates and budgets,” commented Marina Foglia, Executive Director of the BID. “We are looking forward to one more successful year of this wonderful event.”
The event is from 7pm – 12am and is located on Giralda Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33134. Most participating restaurant menus are available online and reservations are highly recommended. Ample parking is available in the municipal parking garages and valet attendants will be stationed at each end of Giralda Avenue. Admission to this event is free and no tickets are required.
