Main Street Cafe: 2009-01-16
Homestead's greatly missed Main Street Cafe has returned after an absence of two years. Some things haven't changed, some have. Singer/songwriter Laurie Oudin is no longer the owner; there's a new phone number: 305-242-4688; much has been spruced up; the stage has shrunk allowing for a larger dance floor; stage lights were replaced with DJ lights; there is no sound system for bands... Anyway, there's fine food, great service, bar, stage, live music, DJ, electronic games, TV's and outdoor pool table. No smoking indoors. Well lit street parking up front and more parking in back.
Approaching Main Street Cafe.
The entrance is to the left.
Close-up of the bulletin board.
Inside Main Street Cafe facing the entrance.
Further to the right of the entrance. A bar is behind me.
Three video game machines. The bar is to the right.
View of dining area and band stage from near the entrance. Bar is to the left, past the photo.
The stage is the darkest place in Main Street Cafe. As well as a sound system (the house sound system is for the DJ only), it may be good for musicians to bring stage lights. Above, we see keyboardist Ron Chassner with the band "Been There, Done That" lit by his keyboard's LCD display.
Facing towards front entrance. The bar is in the distance to the right.
This hall leading to the rear exit is to the left of the stage. It was briefly lit with fluorescents. The middle door is for the DJ booth.
Stepping outside through the rear exit, there's a pool table on the right.
View from rear exit, looking straight ahead.
Approaching the fence gate, there are tables and chairs to the left.
Rear parking.
